Last minute, discounted hotel rates through Hotwire and Priceline are on an anonymous basis so, if you're looking for a specific hotel, your best bet is to call them directly and try to negotiate something below their rack rate. If they have quite a few rooms left, then they'll be much more open to giving you a lower rate. If they don't, then you're stuck with the rack rate.
